    Is She Gonna Go!?!?!?!

So a little backstory... I’m a beginner hobby breeder looking for some help with my 2nd clutch ever. The girl in question is a proven spider currently weighing 2500 grams. Has been consistently locking up with her mojave boyfriend twice a month for the last 3 months. over the last 2 weeks she has been coiled over the hot spot of her tub and seems to be quite thicker than normal in the lower half of her body. She is still eating but not as aggressive as she normally does and she also hasn’t shed in over 6 weeks. She’s very firm and hard to the touch. Hopefully full of eggs. I wasn’t prepared when she produced for me last year so the clutch didn’t make it. Because of this, i have recently built an incubator and am constantly monitoring her in preparation for a clutch. Can some you the more knowledgeable members take a look and let me know what they think could be happiening.

If she is still eating and had her last shed 6 weeks ago she is likely not full of eggs.

BP will in the majority of cases stop eating after ovy and they will also shed 2 weeks after ovulation at which time they will return to the hot spot.

Could she be building? Around a month ago she was bowl wrapping consistently for a week. Her behavior signifies to me that somethings going on because she typically is very active all over the tub and highly food aggressive. Over the past 6 weeks she’s because less and less active and the past 3 weeks she’s been making a perfect coil over the hot spot. I haven’t noticed anything like a tail suck but she definitely has been glowing. Is she possibly just going into ovulation?

When building (developing follicles) females will remain on the cool side.

If she feel hard she can be having her ovulation right now however not seeing the female in person or not being able to touch her makes it impossible for me to determine, ovulations are pretty unmistakable and hard to miss if you pay attention to your animals.

If she ovulates right now she will go through an ovulation shed in 2 weeks.

If you want to see if she is full of eggs do this as a test, take your female out hold her in front of you so you can see her profile and have her stretch with the head down and tail up than move her tail down and head up, if she is full of eggs you will be able to see them move. If it is too early and she has just ovulated you may not see anything.
