Well my wife and I had a pretty good time at the show in Indy today and made it home safely despite very hard rains nearly all the way home. It wasn't as huge as I thought (I guess the good Indy show was last month...go figure) but it was still cool to see some new/different breeders. The variety was actually decent, only thing I didn't specifically see is Sulcata tort's which I was going to check prices for a friend. Anyways I was able to get rid of the het boa pair I've been trying to sell. The male we actually used in a trade with some guy who had a near adult female beardy which we where really looking into so that worked out good. I looked at some gorgeous emerald tree boas that where only about a month old. MAN! I am still in love those animals. I stood in front of the guys table 2-3 times with the last time being for about an hour while the vendor and I talked back and forth...he finally asked if I wanted to come around behind the table to keep looking at them (I was probably causing traffic backups and blocking the view of others hehe). He had 3 in yellow and one in maroon...I so wanted the maroon. But in the end I decided I wasn't ready to drop the money on one yet especially when I'm not fully setup to house one and have been trying to focus on my BP's. He was a great guy though and gave me alot of info, definately not out just to make some cash...he asked ME the right questions and actually recommended not purchasing untill I had something setup...I respected that and he was definately right.
Now on to the cool part: I did have to buy something for myself and with the boas being gone I had one tub in my rack open still...and can't let that go to waste! I found a male 100% het bell line ghost a guy had for sale for $200 and he said outright he had to many hets and would come down on the price to 150. I came back to him twice and ended up taking him for $125...not sure if that was a good deal or not since the focus of my balls recently has been for het albinos. He's a hefty male though and thick! probably close to if not over 1000 grams. I'll have to weigh him sometime soon.
We saw quite a few pastel, spider, and albino ball pythons actually and one piebald that was very nice looking for $6,500...I think my wife had to bite her tongue when she saw me looking at all these morphs, but i knew what she was thinking(no way heck!)
So overal not a big show, but worth a trip for us to get away for the weekend and we both came back happy.
