Crowley loves the smell of bacon

Does anyone else's snake love the smell of bacon? My little Crowley always seems to stick his nose out no matter what time of day when I make bacon. Here's a picture of him sniffing out the bacon, he must get disappointed when I feed him and his rat isn't wrapped in bacon. lol

Many of my snakes do the same thing when I grill or cook bacon... think maybe they can smell something in the meat as it cooks.

Frying bacon or sausage, or roasting fowl seems to get my boas interested. Haven't noticed much from the ball pythons.

Just goes to show, everyone loves bacon! (well for those that eat meat)

I love the name Crowley, is he named from Supernatural? Why not Fergus? haha

I'm pretty sure if there's life on other planets there's bacon on other planets. If not, that just proves humans are the superior race... Damn, that's frightening!!!

Re: Crowley loves the smell of bacon

This is a super late reply, but I googled "Do snakes like the smell of bacon?" because my BP will wake up as soon as we start cooking bacon. I stumbled upon your thread and had a good chuckle. I've never seen his tongue flick so much. As soon as we take the bacon off the stove, he goes back to his hide. Very amusing.

That's so cute! The way Crowley has his little snoot in the air reminds me a bit of how dogs get when they see people eating haha. I've walked through the kitchen around dinner time holding my BP and he always gets really interested in dishes with meat and will reach toward them with his tongue flicking to smell them. I think they know what's up

This is an interesting thread...I've never noticed my snakes being interested because (1) I'm too busy tripping over my dogs & (2) I don't eat real bacon, I prefer
Morningstar Farms, so while it tastes like bacon & smells like bacon to me, I'm not sure it registers the same way to snakes? (must remember to check...)
