    Pre-Feeding Behavior

Its feeding day today and I noticed something. This morning she was sitting on top of her cool hide. Im wondering if she knows that its feeding day and is waiting for food. Usually shes back in her cool hide after roaming at night, but there have been a couple times where shes sitting on her wood. The temps are both in the good zones. I'm going to make her hides smaller though. Also I was wondering if I should feed a rat fuzzie tonight. She took the pinky really easy and it left no lump really. Shes about a little less than a quarter sized at her largest girth. Also the pet store only has live fuzzies and frozen pinkies.

    Re: Pre-Feeding Behavior

Mine do seem to know when it's feeding day. They see the tongs and just perk up. I wouldn't try to give a prey item that leaves a big lump. If this is only your second feeding, I would suggest sticking with the rat pinks for a couple more feedings before uping to the next size. But that's just my opinion and I can't see your snake, so it's gonna hafta be your call.

I got home from school and shes sitting on her wood. She must be hungry. Im gonna go and get her rat here in about an hour. Im gonna see if they have any smaller fuzzies. They said they have live rat pinkies but I dont believe them.

    Re: Pre-Feeding Behavior

With ours depending on the snake we see lurking behaviour (in hide but with face just sticking out and being real still and intent) up to one lil piggie you likes to flop on the roof of her hide and pretend to be starving to death if "someone" doesn't bring her a rat quick! (that would be the lil queenling Rionach LOL) They usually start this a day or two before they eat.
