    Internal parasites?

    Hello,
I want to start with asking this, is eating and not gaining weight for a month consider as losing weight?

My bp has ate 4 meals after I brought him, two mice and two rat. He refused to eat this week and first week I brought him. I am feeding him right size prey.

first poop, he had runny poop so I figured it was because of stress. Then he pooped fine 2 times now, but he seems to pee quite often past week but I see that some bp do that. My concern was that his weight is exactly the same when I first brought him home, maybe couple grams difference, was 125 empty and 127 today empty. Does internal parasite always show as having runny poop? Or can they still have it even if they poop fine.

Is it too early to judge this? Just a month? I already called a vet to check if I should get fecal testing but he told me to watch longer but didn’t explain much about symptoms or what not.
Am also planning on adding one more bp but can’t put them in separate room but will put as far as I can do best quarntine them. Is it contagious?
    Thanks!
Edit- he had fur poop couple times also and temp is 75-80 ambient hot 90 but ambient was little low some day due to extreme cold weather.

They are between 15 g to 19g rat pup. At least they listed it as rat pup and I weighed them myself. Even mice was at that weight and fur on them. I think after I fed rat, he pooped fur, with mice no fur poop.

A 2 grams weight gain with the right size prey is definitely something I would look into especially since you weigh the animal on empty each time. With that king of feeding you should be able to have at least a 25 grams weight gain.

I personally would get a fecal done, just to make sure especially since you are feeding live.

Alright, trying to find some reasonable price place, one I called asked me for 50 for fecal and required check up for 68. Haven’t been to vet alot but is it required to do a check up for my animal before doing fecal? Or do places just do fecal for you?

Yes for first time visits it is required to do a check up to ensure the animal is healthy. No good vet is just going to do a blind fecal float without examining the animal first.

Here is this site's list of vets

Well since fecals are common here in Germany (normally you do a fecal at least once a year and you do at least two when you get your reptile), you don't have to have your pet examined before doing the fecal. I have never experienced that at least. To be honest I don't think it is necessary to have the animal examined beforehand. The results will be the same. I mean you're checking for parasites not illnesses.
I payed about 18,5$ for each fecal. It is important to get the fresh fecal to the vet as soon as possible. The fresher it is, the more diagnostically conclusive it is. There a some parasites that don't survive long outside of the host's body.
