I have a young Mexican black kingsnake, that I purchased from an expo along with another one 6 months ago. This kingsnake has been eating, and growing, and active ever since I have had her. She is in a snake room kept at 80 degrees and 45-55% relative humidity, and she has a hot spot of 86 deg F. I keep her tub and water scrupulously clean. A few days ago I noticed several small (only the size of a few of her scales) bumps just underneath her skin, mostly on her neck near her head. Today she shed, and I observed her more closely in the light, and she has dozens of very small bumps underneath her skin, all the way from her head to the tip of her tail. I can feel them slightly as she slides through my hands. She is on a rack with seven other kingsnakes and they are all fine. In the room there are over 30 snakes, and every one else is fine. I have seen no sign of any mites. I have no clue what could be causing this one snake to be so bumpy! She is small, about 50 grams, when I purchased her she was 10 grams. She appears completely healthy physically and behaviorally other than the bumpyness. I am so baffled my this, nothing I have been able to look up sounds quite like what I am seeing. Almost looks like she has "snake-acne" all over her body.
Thanks so much for any insight
