    F10SC versus F10 SCXD

I just noticed that my F10SC Disinfectant concentrate has expired.

I recently purchased F10 SCXD Cleaner-Sanitizer concentrate, thinking I was getting the SC concentrate that I had been using.

From what I can read (link below), the products are identical in dilution rate and also active ingredients. The F10SCXD has a pine fragrance added.

    http://f10products.com/admin_uploads...%20leaflet.pdf

Can I use them interchangeably? If I have been using the F10SC, can I switch to good (in date) F10 SCXD concentrate without any problems in the same applications (cleaning and disinfecting my reptile tanks, hides, etc.).

Will the pine smell annoy or hurt the reptiles? I would imagine not, and I believe the SCXD is the newer product (for F10, in addition to being in date for me).

Thank you in advance. Any input is appreciated.

If no one is too sure, I can always just order the F10SC, it's not an emergency.

Im not somewhere I can read up on that one but I only use SC as it doesn't need to be rinsed. If I remember correctly the others were not safe to spray and wipe without rinsing. As far as expiration I actually called over seas and was told this was a FDA situation. I bought in bulk and they told me its fine years past expiration and that its the US FDA that made them use a expiration date. All mine are for 2018 but I have several 64oz consitrate bottles I will continue using.

    Really good info. Thank you!

I’ll stick with the SC and if really want to worry, I’ll order a new concentrate for $20.

Everyone is happy and healthy. So not a major concern. Just wanted to be cautious.

    Thank you again.

**Please read instructions so that you are not spreading misinformation cause we know there is plenty in this hobby - not knocking anyone btw**

F10SCXD can be sprayed on and wiped off, no need to rinse. F10SCXD is a great regular cleaning tool with a surface cleaning formula. For the best bio security we recommend follow up disinfecting with F10SC on a regular basis.

We DO NOT recommend use of F10SCXD in a fogger, please see our F10SC product for that application!

The XD means "eXtra Detergent" which is why it needs to be rinsed. It is a cleanser and disinfectant not just a disinfectant like F10SC.

    Re: F10SC versus F10 SCXD

Thank you to all. I plan to stick with SC.

I have been sick for 3 weeks (flu, cough, cough and stomach bug, still cough, had a horrible allergic reaction to antibiotics and was in the ER until 3AM last night) and read much, not all of the literature. Under the current circumstances, asking made the most sense. I appreciate the patience and responses.

Plus, other people may not know the difference either.

Thank you again and I as stated, I will keep using the F10SC. I have used it for years and it works great.

P.S. I have also starting using the following for smell control and maintenance and it works really well (I am a kidney transplant recipient and take lots of medication and my stomach isn't always the best - anything that helps smells and doesn't hurt my animals makes me happy).

A little bit goes a long way! May start a thread for this if there isn't one.

Even Reptile Basics I quoted earlier is wrong.

BCR229 is correct - here is the manufacturers instructions

Due to the cleaning detergent contained in F10®SCXD, any food bowls or instruments that are to come in close contact with animals should be washed with clean water to ensure no soap residue is left.

I bought both the SC and the SCXD. But, I was barely using the XD because I was using a bleach/water mix. But, with my latest "accident" involving bleach, I think I'm going to use the SCXD more and bleach a lot less.
