    Temp regulating?

too many questions come up few days before ball python lol
I know that ball pythons can move around hot spit and cool spot to whichever it wants to thermoregulate. My question is that, if there are two identical hides on both side, if the temp is too high or too low, do they not go there at all? For example, if hot spot is 90 and cool spot is 70, do they not go to the cool spot at all? Or opposite, hot spot 98 cool spot 80, will they just know where to stay? Or no Btw those are not my temp, just made it up lol

They will go to where they feel secure. If they have secure options at either end, they know well enough to seek out proper temps for themselves.

    Re: Temp regulating?

BP will chose security over regularization, So if the perfect temps are provided on one end but there is no security they will chose security over the proper temps and vice versa.

YOUR job is to provide proper husbandry which includes security and proper temps to prevent issues whether it's from being too hot such as burns or too cold which can lead to respiratory issues.

It is well known that even a hot spot becomes too hot even to the burning point a BP will not and burn itself.
