I need help removing a clip secured to the inside of my python's enclosure
There is a clip secured to the interior of my python's enclosure, about 1/2" below the screen top.
I'm wondering if there are suggestions as to how I can remove the clip in a non-toxic manner.
I'm not sure what the clip was for initially - I purchased her a few days ago during a deal for tarantulas
(Owners were moving and had to downsize, liked me, and offered the Ts for free if I would care for their snake at a discounted price - so enclosure came as is)
I'm concerned because I found her stuck between the clip and the screen of the enclosure - safely removed her as I was luckily awake and suddenly chose to check on her so she's fine and must have only been trapped for a few minutes.
Can't post a picture as I don't have permissions to attach a file.

Thanks for that.
Clip is in the top left, appearing slightly above the "Eco-Earth" wording on the bag.

Any other suggestions on how I can improve this enclosure for her would be more than welcome as well.
I've read that I will need a second hide on the cooler side of the tank, and her water dish is going to be updated - I just prefer not to mess around with a recently acquired animal's enclosure for about a week after purchase so they can become accustomed to a new environment with at least some familiar items.

So the white thing? I would use an exacto blade and cut it off. Then scrape the rest of the stuff with another blade.

Great! Thank you. I'll jump on that in the am.

So yes, you need another hide on the other side identical. I would not use aspen bedding. I would use Eco earth or reptile prime. More plants for hide spots too. Cover the back and sides with black paper. Cover the screen top to hold in humidity.
Whatnare your temps on hot side, cool side and ambient. How are your lamps and uth regulated?

If the clip is held in place with adhesive you could possibly heat it with a hair drier (or your light) and use dental floss as a cutting tool. Then work the adhesive off with your finger?
Suggestions for husbandry;
- a hide on both sides as you've mentioned (I would go ahead and get it in ASAP so the snake has the opportunity to acclimate with both hides in place and not be stressed with only the one, but that's just my opinion
- the water dish is fine, I use tupperware too LOL
- not sure if you're using anything for belly heat (or just the overhead light) and what your humidity levels are, but once you get those dialed in and the hides in place - you're pretty much in cruise control
- be CERTAIN your heating devices are controlled by a thermostat so they do not harm your snake
- MAYBE cover the back and sides of the enclosure to give a more secure feeling - before I switched to AP enclosures I used aquarium backgrounds or plain unprinted paper
I'm sure I'm missing something but that's a start anyway.

I read that eco earth can cause problems with their eyes, but if that's not actually a major concern I definitely have no problem replacing the aspen with it as I have plenty and I think the aspen is too rough on her.
I found instructions on adjusting the top to provide a better hold for humidity and am doing that tomorrow.
I can do the plants and paper tomorrow as well.
Hot side: 85F - which I know isn't ideal and why I was going to cover the screen
Humidity is at 70%
Unsure about the cool side, picking up another thermometer this weekend but aware I'm aiming for something in the 75F - 80F range - unless someone wants to tell me this is incorrect.
Lamps are currently interchanged at 12H intervals.

The enclosure comes with an under tank heater on only the side where her hide is - however, it is not thermostat controlled.
Fair enough point regarding the hide, I'll add that right away.
And thanks for the suggestion on the clip removal
Mmhm, I've been creeping the forum for a bit now but wasn't planning on picking up a python for another month or two so it has definitely been a great help, thank you.
