Texas RCES Permit for a Minor?

I'm 15 and I want a superdwarf retic. Nothing bad about that right? So for any of you Texans, can I get an RCES (Big Snake Permit) as a minor? I can't see it being restricted to adults, but I also CAN see it being restricted to adults.

I had no idea that Texas required a permit for retics. Doesn't look like there is an age restriction. I wonder how that works shipping snakes to buyers in TX? I suppose they need the permit in place before you can ship them?

There's absolutely no enforcement or point to it. I could order, buy in shop, or even at a reptile store and they wouldn't care if I had a licence or not. The laws are so unknown that when I bought my blood python (a snake that isn't eve under those guidelines) the vendor thought he couldn't sell to me because he didn't know if they were on the list and if he could sell to minors. I think it's kinda dumb but it's better than some random kid being able to buy a mainland female thinking he can be the next Brian Barczyk.

From just looking it over, there doesn't appear to be an age restriction -- however, I'd still call someone in the Parks & Wildlife Department or talk to a place that sells hunting permits to be certain.

As for someone shipping a snake to someone, apparently the receipt of purchase serves as a permit for 21 days for the purchaser, then you have to get a permit to own the snake or you're in violation of the law. It's also something that has to be renewed yearly, by the looks of it.

EDIT: I'm assuming you're going to at least need a photo ID to get the permit. So, maybe 16 as the minimum age. Definitely ask someone who deals with permits to be sure.
