Lights while using belly heat need help

I’m getting ready to switch over from overhead lamp heating to belly heat using a thermostat and heating pad. I know how to set it up but what I don’t know is whether my ball python needs light as well? If not with heat just day/night lights? If heated as well how do I control the overall temp when I’m controlling the heat pad? Do I even need light for them? (They are in a dark non traffic room so keep that in mind)

They don't need light, so I'd go with a CHE if you must. But that will dry the air out especially in a glass tank. You can use a dimmer or thermostat to regulate it.
