I have an Animal Plastics T12 (4x2x2) on the way. I was thinking that working on the enclosure directly might be very difficult, so I bought a 3 eggcrate diffusers to create a framework. I'm planning on building it out on that.

Is that a bad idea? I'm just at the mockup stage right now.

It's going to be home for a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. There will be no water features, or anything like that.

Adhesion to an un-scored surface of these PVC enclosures is sometimes a challenge. Do you plan the wall facade to be removable or permanent?

I use these adhered with super glue to the walls for tie downs with the self stick garbage they come with peeled off first. If you want permanent walls you could zip tie the egg crate to those then spray foam on to the egg crate as a medium to get good attachment.



If you do not want permanent walls then you could always cut acrylic or even pvc to size, score it first and create the walls that way then loose mount them to the T12

I've got this for the floor and 3 sides. I'm thinking it could make for a nice drop-in. They come in a 4x2 size, so it seems perfect.

I assume this is for a snake so just make sure to make it snug to reduce the chance of it being crawled into. My only thought on egg crate with a removable background is it is not that sturdy of a backing material and could eventually break after repeated removals but again it might be fine.

I'm going silicone the edges to prevent it from pulling away.

I used egg crate diffusers quite a bit when I had salt water reef aquaria.

Plastic wire ties are the easiest way to attached the individual panels.

Some companies make 3D walls for plastic caging if you are interested in going that route. I am told they are extremely robust. You could try contacting constrictors NW as Ed makes realistic rock walls, see some of them here.

I've looked into some of those, but when you get into this size, they're ridiculously expensive.
