    Unhappy Best Method of Rehoming?

Hi, all. I've had a good run with Kayly, but I really think it's time I consider giving her a new and better life. I've recently had a baby, which is taking a lot out of me. Making ends meet living paycheck to paycheck is proving to a difficult task and spending an extra $20/check on rats and even more on substrate to regularly sub out is not really manageable right now. She's refusing to eat because I'm struggling to keep the humidity proper without the swamp cooler. Finding time to clean the tank every few days is just impossible between parenting and work, especially with very little outside help. I never get any hits on CraigsList and I don't have any friends who can take care of her. Where else could I try? Is there a FaceBook group I can try? Do local pet stores sometimes take animals? How do I make sure she goes to someone who can actually take care of her? TIA.

I would check out your local humane society or no kill shelters, some of them do take exotics and take on the task of rehoming. You can try a pet store, I know the one I work at (a Canadian company) will only take in animals that we have previously sold and we don't generally take on 'outside' animals simply due to space. If you do go the pet store route, maybe try a non-chain reptile-specific store, as they will probably be better equipped and have more knowledge of the species and their care.

You can also search on facebook for [your area] reptile rehoming groups. For example the one in my city is called Calgary Reptile and Amphibian Sales and Rehoming.

I'm sorry you have such a busy schedule. I can't imagine how much work a baby and a job would be. Good on you for doing the right thing for your scale baby. Best of luck

You could always try websites like morph market or kingsnake. Facebook does have a lot of reptile groups to post on as well, you just have to find the right one.

How big is she and what kind of morph (or just a normal)? Are you sure she is a female? I noticed you are in Colorado, I live in Bailey CO and wouldn't mind another female to breed with some of my stuff, even a Normal female would work for me as I'm just trying to get my reptile business off the ground. I think you are about a five hour drive from me though, do you ever get to Denver? (You can send me a private message if you want).
