Do bp's show increased actvity before feeding day?

So last week sunday Viagos feeding response was intense. He struck like he never struck before and coiled so hard he squeezed rat pup juice all over himself. I've had him a little over a month now and he's been a consistently awesome eater. Last night into tonight, he's been out of his usual hidey hole, sometimes sleeping in the open, sometimes moving around and looking out at me when I pop over to check on him. Is it possible for bp's to anticipate feeding time and become more out and about due to it?

Some background info on his setup: 24x18x12 exo terra, three sides covered, che over the cool end keeping it at 80-82 degrees measured with a digital thermometer. Hot side controlled by a UTH attached to a thermostat, sits at a pretty constant 89-90. Coco husk substrate mixed with exo terra forest moss, humidity sits at a consistent 53-57%. His last shed went okay, but his head got stuck. This was because my humidity was originally at a dismal 30 ish %. Rectified the stuck shed by putting him in a tupperware with damp forest moss for about 20 minutes. He doesn't seem to be in shed. His tank sits in a very low traffic area.

I did also do a thorough sweep for poop, as this was the reason he was out last time, but as far as I can tell, nothing.

Mine definitely anticipates food. The night before she's all over the enclosure, and the night of she is entirely fixated on the spot I usually use to peek into the enclosure. She knows exactly where the food comes from lol. I came home today and she was curled up staring at that spot. With how intense her appetite is I have her on a 5 day schedule.

Ive been considering moving Viago to a 5 day, just because he does seem to get a bit antsy at the last couple days. He's been so consistent though, I'd hate to mess up a good thing by changing things, you know?

If he's a baby it'd be fine if you did. Maze has always been VERY INTO eating, so much so that the first month I got her I fed her every 4 days, which.... doable, just kind of felt like she didn't get to do anything BUT eat and digest. I think when she gets closer to 500 grams I'm going to try to switch to every 7 days, but it depends on her.

Yeah Viago seems that way as well, all about the food. I cant complain as I've heard many tales of picky balls. He's only a bit over three months old. When I weighed him a month and a week ago, he was 84 grams. Still waiting on a new scale to come in, but I think it's safe to say he's grown as he just looks much bigger (obviously won't know for sure until amazon delivers!).

I think I'll give it a test run. Feed him tomorrow and then again on Friday and see if he takes it. It's really up to him I guess!

Maze was at 59 grams when she arrived, and was 176 empty a few days ago. She's 5 months old, though, and was 2 months when I got her. And honestly I feel the same way, Maze is so not-picky and I feel pretty dang lucky compared to other folks' stories. Arguably, she took to rats better than she was taking the mice. She instantly knows what that smell is, but it took her a bit to figure out what a mouse was lmao.

Keep us posted! I'm interested to see how your boy does .

Boop knows her schedule too. Wed morning she is laying her head out of her hide waiting for me to take her out. She knows a rat appears for her every wed lol

Reese knew his schedule at the beginning up until a little past 700 grams. At the beginning he would always have his head out of his hide on Monday since I feed him at the time on Tuesdays. Once he reached 700 grams he does not do this anymore so I switched him to a 10 day schedule and what do you know he starts doing the peak a boo thing when he is hungry lol.

I actually switched his day to 10 when I noticed his poop was kind of mushy. Since I have had no mushy poop and his feeding response becam normal again.

He only have refused 1 meal since I have owned him and it was due to him being in shed.

Yeah, this has been my experience with the boys. Soon as they hit 700-800g they get weird about 7-day feeding.
