Not Eating
My year and a half old male ball python won't eat. Two Thursdays ago I tried to feed him, but he never ate the mouse. Last Thursday I tried to feed him as well, and again he did not eat. Any Ideas?

Re: Not Eating
Ball Pythons are known to go into fasts that can last months. Dont worry that its been a few weeks. Just maintain your temperatures and humidity as they should be and continue to offer food weekly. Does the snake have enough security in its enclosure? Hides on both the warm end and the cool end?

Re: Not Eating
Any changes in your husbandry? Is it possible you are overfeeding him? What are you feeding? Sometimes if you are feeding too much they will fast. Make sure temps are about 92 hot side and 82 cool side. Make sure you measure temps not with those dials or strips, get a digital gauge. The more accurate you are the better for your snake!

Re: Not Eating
Overfeeding might not always lead to obesity. It just sometimes leads to fasting for periods.
Just make sure that everything is tip top condition and continue to offer food like everyone else said

Year and a half old male + end of summer = dude wants a girlfriend more than food.
If he's fasting this early, you're going to be in for a long winter ... probably getting cool around his enclosure at night. If a fast is going to freak you out, get your temps up up up. 84 one side, 94 the other, 24 hours a day, no matter what. Fill the cage with lots of crumpled up newspaper for added security. Sooner or later he'll come around ... or, you could get him a girlfriend.
