    Change from Glass Tank

I currently have a 40 gallon glass tank setup and was looking to change to something thats easier to manage temps and humidity in.

The temps in my tank are good but humidity is a bit of a pain to mantain.

Any recomendations on what to use? I would prefer something that I can see into the enclosure.

Animal Plastic enclosures (I personally have 3)with a radiant heat panel (RHP) controlled by a thermostat. You set it and forget it! But seriously, they're pretty amazing. The setup is a little pricey, but totally worth it.

I also forgot to add that my house does get cool. Temps usually fluctuate between 60-70. I use 2 UTH and a CHE to obtain my temps right now.

You definitely want a PVC or melamine enclosure then over something like a tub. You can put an RHP on the ceiling and heat tape underneath to ensure your snake stays plenty warm.

    Re: Change from Glass Tank

I had humidity problems with glass because the area I live in gets cold, so the added heat lamps and pads killed my humidity. I switched over to a tub and haven't had any issues at all. The tub is warm, humidity is easier to maintain (if not a bit too high), and it is way easier to clean. My snake has seemed much happier in the tub as well.

    Re: Change from Glass Tank

I run all AP Enclosures with P12 Pro Panels & Herpstats. The entire set up is pricey but well worth it I say. Running Pro Panels in my AP's gives me 91/92 Hot Hide & 77/80 Cool Hide. Humidity is 58% regularly and 70% during Shed by moving my X-Large 12qt water bowel further under my RHP. My house is cool basically all year around. Summer 65 with AC & Winter 60 at night & 71 days.
I feel its a perfect setup.

I'm currently using a tub but have to heat the room because we get cool here too. Can't wait to go pvc. Easier to keep the temps with rhp.
