Thumbs up Baby & Punkin's Vet Visit

Baby and Punkin saw our vet this morning and were probed. We hit on both of them....BOTH FEMALE!!!!

We couldn't be happier! The vet felt both snakes were in great shape other than Punkin continues to need to put a bit more weight on.

    Now on to the re-naming......

Thanks Jamie and Khara! We couldn't be more thrilled!

Well our girls have new names finally....thank goodness the days of "Baby & Punkin" are finally done.

Baby is now called Riona which means "queenlike" and suits that lil ball python princess very well LOL.

Punkin is now called Keena which means "brave" as that's what she is....nothing startles her and everything is something to tongue flick at...our explorer snake LOL.

Re: Baby & Punkin's Vet Visit

LOL thank you hon. Keena is pronounced Kee-na....Riona is pronounced Ree-o-na...so sort of rhyming. A lot of female names from the celtic end in the "a". we just picked these two as they fit each snake's personality so very well.

Well Robin, tell that pet store know it all guy that says female ball pythons never make it to pet stores to hush the heck up now. Riona (Baby) we bought in a pet store ourselves, and Keena (Punky) was bought in a pet store in downstate Michigan so there ya go Boink the pet store guy one for me will ya LOL.

Pretty good deal really...Riona was $60.00....Keena was $20.00 for the gasoline to go pick her up....$80.00 for two healthy females is a great deal in our books

Congratulatins, Jo!!!! Keena was a name that I was considering for Kashmire, because of the brave part! LOL How funny!

I'm going to have a hard time not referring to them as Baby and Punkin!

I'm gonna have to get Kash probed before too long. Me suspects he may be a she (ok, wishful thinking) but I'm not convinced that the folks I got him from were good at sexing. He was popped when they got him, but I don't know them personally to know how accurate they are.

    Congratulations again!!!!

Congrats guys!! That's great, and now you have two future girlfriends for that lovely little boy Finn (if I remember correctly). But it's gonna be hard, since in the back of my mind I'll still think of them as baby and punkin. The new names are definitely nicer so I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Lovely choice of names Jo and they're both girls too Riona isn't far off my name (Fiona which is Gaelic for Fair). Graham my hubby cringes at my choice of names for my BPs - Bobby and Byron. He should speak though, his Boas are called Zig and Zag

Re: Baby & Punkin's Vet Visit

I know I actually put their new names on masking tape on their sterlite tubs LMAO. It will take a bit but I know we'll all get used to their new names.

I was so impressed with the vet btw...she was wonderful and very slick with that sexing probe. She was laffing a bit at Mike and I high fiving when both probed out as females! Great too...only $33.00 total for two snakes checked over, weighed and sexed! Gotta love my vet clinic! She's all set up to do the fecal (float??? Becky will get that bit) when Maude the rehomed WC gets here next week and decides to leave us a "prezzie".

We did have to grin over a couple of the vet techs who were actually nervous of our two laid back snakes. Too funny! The one that assisted our vet though was great and handled both the girls with confidence.

All in all a super day and Finn's wives are doing wonderful.

Oh we were able to get appropriate sized rats for them too! So tonight begins the big mouse-to-rat experiment.
