    Good news! And some questions...

Hi! So, Geno as you might know, was pretty grumpy earlier this month. Turned it was just him going into shed He looks gorgeous! And I'm happy to say that he's been doing really good and I had him out earlier today and he was being really sweet and cute Now, I have some questions. (Like always lol sorry)

    1. I'm moving tomorrow and I was thinking I would just move everything and come back and get him last. And put him in his bag (The mech sack he came in) and drive him & his tank over there. Then I'd let the tank get all warm and good for like 30 mins and put him in there Is that ok?
    2. Thursday (As in two days ago) I fed him. And I was scared it was too big! When I got him a month ago, he was on (F/T) medium mice. I switched him up to adult mice (I wanna say two weeks ago?) and he was taking those pretty good But when I went to get his ADULT MOUSE in Thursday, I accidentally got a small rat... (I was in a hurry.. I just felt for size :/ Whoops!) I thought I'd be too big for him but he took it fine! So I guess I should just stick with small rats?
    3. So, I got Geno as a pastel. But I think he might have some scaleless head in him? If not, I don't know what it is. He's been losing some scales on the top of his head. Should I be worried? I'll try to add some pictures.

    Thank you!

How big is Geno? Do you know his gram weight? Unless he's almost his adult size I'd say small rats are more than likely too big for him.

Moving plan sounds good to me, just make sure tstat and everything is properly set up before you put the snake back in

And about the missing scales... he's either scaleless head or he's not, you can't just have "some", and since scaleless head is pretty pricey right now I think you'd know if you had bought one. He's more likely to be rubbing his head on something in the cage. Do you have a screen topped terrarium? What kinds of hides do you use? Image didn't come through.

Dont apologize for asking questions lol! We love answering them

    Moving plans sound very good!

I would say say go back to adult mice. What does geno weigh? If you don't have a scale I would get one. One time over feed is ok but do not continue isf his size does not need it.

Re: Good news! And some questions...

Sorry I didn't answer! Let's see... Geno is 1 yr old, I packed his scale already though I'll can weigh him tomorrow. The rat was maybe the size and a half of the biggest part of his body if that helps. And his head is like.. I don't know. I thought it was like stuck shed? But they're like coming off... He was $75. And I do have a screen top with some tin foil over 3 of the 4 panels to keep humidity in. Decorations are a rocky water bowl, rocky hide, one of those half wood hides, and some driftwood. I'll try to add a picture of those too! But the weird thing was I thought scaleless head babies were born with the scales missing already? I didn't think/know they came off over time. Thank you so much! I'll try the pictures on Tapatalk

Not a scaleless head. Looks like rubbing. I cannot speculate on weight, however boople is a year and she is 385g and is on pup rats due to increase soon to weaned rats if that helps.

OK, so the food size kinda depends more on the weight? And is rubbing like a sign of stress or something or is it normal?

Yep. I don't know how to link the food chart. It its in the stickies or pinned posts. Looks like a few stuck scales to me. I think it's normal, but I could be wrong lol.
