    Squishy lower half?

    Hey guys,

Ive had my ball python for about a month. He was 390G when i got him. I was feeding F/T weaned every 5 days until this past Monday when I fed a larger, small sized rat. He was 519G when i fed the small rat. He took it no problem. His last poo was about 3 weeks ago. This is when it was often. I cleaned his poo 2-3 times in the first two weeks I got him. He's in a 20gal long. Hot spot is around 90 with a UTH and cold side is around 80 with a ceramic heater. Humidity is between 55-65. He also JUST got out of a shed on Monday when i fed him.

My issue is, after waiting 48hrs to hold him and let him digest, his bottom half was squishy and bloated like... What could this be? Should i be worried?

    Thanks!

I've had my bumblebee for almost 2 years now. She has always felt "squishy". I've had no problems with her

Sounds like a textbook case of sausage butt to me. When they haven't gone to the bathroom for awhile it starts to accumulate back there. It looks and feels unsightly, but it's nothing to worry about. The snake will let it out when he's ready.

Of course I can' tell for sure without seeing him. Pics would help.

Yup, that's a poop waiting to make it's way out.

Was the recent shed a complete shed? Was there any stuck shed?

Ok, as long as the shed was complete and the cloaca isn't blocked, it's just a case of he'll poop when he's ready. Nothing to worry about.

I would not worry too much. Mine, after changing him to a different substrate, went almost 3 weeks between poops and let me tell you it was like an assembly line of poop sausage across the tank this morning! If you have concern give him a nice warm but supervised soak and see how that does to work him loose.
