Introduction of snakes to snakes?

Hey all!

just curious outside of breeding and species like carpets where males will fight, has anyone introduced two snakes during handling sessions and if so what results did you have and with what species and sex? Thanks all!

I want to know as well. Will it hurt to introduce two snakes in a handling session?

2 years ago when my first two ball pythons weren't much bigger than hatchlings, I took them out together to take photos LOL. Both male. The only thing they wanted to do was slither as far away from each other as possible.

For handling, balls generally won't give 2 turds about each other. Odds are if you put them on the floor they will go their separate ways. Unless they are 2 male balls in breeding season. Then they might fight. Which can be quite fun to watch and educational. It's even a good tactic for getting reluctant males to breed. The won't hurt each other. Can't say for carpets or others though

I've seen adult balls together in tanks at Reptile shows, separated by gender. Same with Corn snakes. I've held BP's and Corns at the same time. No problems, but realize, in both situations, there's no competition for resources.

Bear in mind that some snake species look at other snakes as prey.

Thanks for all the feedback! I know it's not such an easy question to answer but I knew someone did it lol so was curious to see how different species of snakes interacted with each other. I always figured it would end in disaster for some reason and just stayed away but I sure wanted to deep down in hopes they would just chill.

Putting different species together? Right off the top of my head, I'd see a possible problem with husbandry needs, then the competition for resources, then, as mentioned by bcr229 above, one eating the other. It's just not prudent to do so.
