Ambient Temps in PVC (Two UTHs)

I'm trying to dial in my temps for a 20L PVC enclosure. Currently I have a UTH controlled by a Herpstat which is getting some decent temps on the Hot Side (HerpStat set at 103 and surface bottom reads 93.1). The ambient / cool side still hovers around 75. My breeder recommended attaching a UTH to the backside wall to help increase the temp but after searching the forum I'm not so sure that will have the intended effect. Would it make sense to install another UTH on under the enclosure on the cool side and just keep it low enough w/ a thermostat? Maybe the smallest size available?

Anyone in this same situation trying to heat a PVC enclosure?

A uth does little to nothing for air temps.

Having a uth set as a hotspot and one as a cool spot would be fine. You will of course need a second tstat.

I have a friend who set up his one BP this way because he keeps his house at 65*F in the winter. With a snug-fitting hide over each UTH and aspen bedding piled up around the sides of each hide, there's enough heat trapped under the hide to keep the snake comfortable. He runs his cool side UTH at 82*F and the hot one at 90-92*F.

Great information. I'm heading in this direction and upgrading my Herpstat1 to a Herpstat2. So I get the hotspot should be in the low 90s and the coolspot should be around 80. But should the ambient air temp be in a certain range? So many factors to consider.
