    My Rescued BP

Hi everyone. I got a rescue Royal Python on Friday evening. I got him from a reptile rescue centre near where I live. He had been severely neglected by his previous owners. When he came to the rescuers, he had 3 lots of partial shed stuck to him and was being constricted by his own skin The rescuers took 2 days to get the shed off him. They got most of it off except for some eyecaps. We're hoping that will come off with the next shed, if not, I'll take him to our reptile vet and have them properly removed.

I didn't think he would eat tonight after having moved to a new environment so I'm delighted that he did

Here's some pics of him eating.

and eating a medium sized mouse

As you can see, he is very thin but if he keeps eating like this, he'll put on weight very quickly.

He also has a lovely temperament and is very friendly, despite what he's been through Just love him to bits already

Welcome to the forum! He is a lovely snake! And so lucky to be placed with someone who's going to give him proper care and love!

I know he's in a great home now. Good for you! Our Punkin was thin too when we got her but in no time at all she's become a champion eater and putting on length and weight like crazy. She also had a history of poor sheds but shed about 2 weeks after we got her and did it all herself and completely.

There's just nothing quite like seeing them blossom!

Keep us updated on him please and of course your other lovely Royal.

Congrats on the rescue. He does look pretty thin, but hopefully you'll have him bulked up soon.
