Hello everyone!
When I took my BP, Theia, out today for handling, I noticed the left side of her mouth had a slight gap between the upper and lower jaw. This is the first time I've ever seen it and the gap is not present on the other side of her mouth. I'm wondering if this is an early sign of mouth rot;;
Sorry for the terrible quality photo, I'll try and get a better one tomorrow if I can. Low-light conditions and I didn't want to stress her too much.
She ate just fine last week and I did a full clean/substrate change of her entire enclosure around 3 weeks ago. Admittedly the new cypress mulch raised the humidity to way high levels, but I tried to open her enclosure as much as I could to let some humidity out. There was still some condensation forming on the glass though, which I know is bad but like I said, I tried to leave her enclosure open during the day (while I'm present within view of the enclosure at all times of course). In hindsight I should've opened the cypress mulch bag first and allowed it to dry out a bit before putting it all in...
The temps are stable at 88-90 on the hot side and around 84-85 on the cool end. The humidity has dropped back down to around 40% on the warm end and 50-60% on the cool end. She's on pure cypress mulch in an animal plastics T10 with a 40w RHP.
Should I get her to see a vet as soon as I can or wait to see if she improves on her own?
