I finally broke down and got my first snake. I tossed around the idea for months and finally pulled the trigger last weekend on a fire YB ball. So far everything is going good with him. My only concern has been with feeding him. I picked him up from a local reptile show and weighed him at my buddies house. He weighed 275g. After I got him home that night and put in his tank he waited about an hour before taking a grumpy. Anyways I got a small frozen and live rat from the local pet shop to feed him. I took their advice that he could eat it. When I got home they were obviously too large. So my daughter now has a pet rat. The next day my wife picked me up a large frozen mouse and he ate it just fine. On the package it said it was approximately 19g. My question is is it large enough for him? I planned on once a week feedings, but I'm not against every 5 days if that would be better. With the research I've done it seems 10-15% of their body weight should be feed. I'm mostly concerned I maybe underfeeding my poor buddy.
