I originally thought mom was a pastel and dad was a butter or lesser! But man look at those kids! It almost looks like they're genetic strip! And the female hatchling has a very weird and amazing head pattern! Something's definitely going on there!

I love the way the girl's dorsal stripe goes right into the eye stripes without any interruption. I would definitely keep those two as hold backs and play around as a possible dinker project.

You are correct. The mother was sold to me in 2007 as a dirty pastel (along with a fire that sadly failed to thrive). The mother looks like a really browned out pastel as shown above.

The father was sold to me by Adam at 8-ball as a lesser in 2010. Neither had been bred before.

Now the entire clutch was nice, but these two are my holdbacks as I intend to breed them for lesser super pastels, and anything showing the female's strong stripe (any BELs will be up for sale as I cannot be certain if they are pastels, or linked to the striping)

Mom pastel has a rather tricked out pattern, so I think if there is something special going on, it might be coming from her. Repeat the pairing maybe?

As for what color the eyes are... I'm not really sure, they always look kinda dark green to me.

If it was me, the boy would be visiting his mamma next season. Interesting stuff going on there.
