Question Am I doing this right?

I was gifted a ball python. He is SO sweet. I've been reading a ton, but I'd appreciate it if someone would look at my pics and make sure his habitat looks safe and his food size is appropriate. And is that poop normal?!? He might have been underfed before I got him. Poor guy was always hungry. Slowly upgraded to the small rat you see him holding. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!!

I have a red bulb and an uth. Also, I have a digital probe thermometer on one side and a thermometer/hygrometer on the other side. Sorry I don't know how to post pics in messages, yet.

You need a thermostat to control the UTH, otherwise it will overheat and burn your snake. Thermometers/hygrometers just tell you the humidity and temperature.
I also wouldn't use half logs. They don't provide enough security on all sides, besides one opening. Your choice though.
