    Supply Sizes

After a month of waiting around for my birthday to come, I'm officially getting my ball python very soon!! It'll still be a week or so since I need to set up the tub, which is what I need to ask about. While I'm still not certain on which BP I'm getting, the one I have my eye on is going to be 6 months old soon, and I'm not sure what his weight is (I am awaiting a reply from the seller).
What size tub should I get? And what size hides? Small Reptile Basics hides would probably suffice, right?
Also, for the F/T rats, I want to buy a bunch right to last me like 6 months. (Btw, how long can I keep frozen rats before they expire or whatever?) I'm guessing I'll have to change to larger sizes within the upcoming months, so how many of each size rat should I get?
And I know this is all pretty hard to tell I just want a rough estimate so I can buy everything finally

To know what size tub and hides you need, you'll need to get the weight (which I know you've already asked the seller for). Generally people use a 6q for hatchlings, a 15q for juveniles, and then a 32q for adult males and a 41q for adult females or very large adult males. These are the sizes found in some racks, such as AP's racks (which is what I have), but anything around that size would work.

I think the small reptile basics hides are the right size for 6 quart tubs, but don't quote me on that since I've never bought one. The only hides I've bought were large hides for my two largest snakes, but since they live in a rack now I don't use hides anymore.
    1.0 Normal (Emrys)
    0.1 Fire (Calypso)
    0.1 Pied (Tessa)
    0.1 Albino Kingsnake (Nienna)
2.1 Cats (Suki, Daisuke, and Kyo)
0.0.2 Leopard Geckos (Chi and Pixel)

At 6-months probably rat pups, but it is best to confirm his/her weight on arrival & use the table above.
If you need a scale, I got this one on Amazon for only $11, it works great, accurate + simple to use:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sorry I'm not a tubber either...

BTW, I ordered rat pups from Big Cheese last week still in stock. I got 25 since I may need to move up after that & they will easily last 6-months in freeze (store in freezer bags and remove as much air as possible, vacuum sealer a plus)
