I see a lot of lamp and no lamp posts, is there a definitive approach? Does it depend on local environ? (I'm an AC home in south FL) What is the best tpe of lamp for BP?

I'm in South Fl and I use a CHE and I use a blue heat bulb to keep the temp up on the coolside but I recently moved and now I don't need a lamp on the coolside the heat is regulating by itself. So I feel and think it depends on your temps and what you are looking and trying to do.

Do you mean a lamp for heating or lighting? Ball pythons don't need lighting, just some natural light to indicate general day/night cycles, so no.

But if your enclosure ambient temperatures are too low, you'll need some kind of top heating to warm it up, like a CHE or RHP or red heat bulb.
