    Bleeding while probing?

So basically, I bought a probing set from my breeder. I wanted to check my female ball python just in case as in the future I might breed her. As I was probing yesterday, she slightly bled from her cloaca. I used lube and the correct sized probe. Being very gentle and I was taught how to probe. Plus it wasn't the first time I've done this. After probing, when I pulled it out, a tiny piece of what seemed like dead skin (as she just shed, so I assumed that's what it was?) came out along with a very small trickle of blood. I'm very concerned. The bleeding didn't last and it was very little. I am assuming she is female as the probe didn't pass in deep at all. I did probe both sides. Very shallow probing. I'm just worried I hurt her although I was very careful to be gentle. And as soon as I hit a wall I stopped.

Are you sure your prove is very smooth all around ?

I bet what you thought was dry skin was actually a bit of regular skin that got caught on the probe and tore a bit.

Probably very superficial and she should be fine. If you are very worried, keep her on paper towels (very clean and dry) for at least a week or so. I think she will be fine. Check that probe though...

Yeah, it's a good probing set with balled tips. I checked them over they seem fine.
