Staples on heat tape

Hey I just got a sweet deal on a rack with heat. It's made out of pvc. Normally ive seen the heat tape held down by aluminum tape. However this one has staples. On the clear edge all over. Is this ok?

The clear edge is fine, yeah. It's the black and metallic condictive material that carries the current.
