Time for bigger rats???

Hey all, i'm sure in the near future i'll have questions about feeders for my yearling, but now i'm wondering if its time to go up in size for my 2.5 year old male. He's been on small rats since last February - they looked huge for him then, but he handled them with aplomb, and now he's a full foot longer (he's 3'10"), certainly thicker, and the smalls seem to go down maybe a little too easily(?) They leave no lump whatsoever (i know a lump isn't necessarily a good thing, but just in case anyone was wondering) Summer of '16 into fall he was eating every 2 weeks, I tapered starting in November, peaking in Dec/Jan with an 8 week fast, fed him in late Feb after 6 weeks, and plan to feed on 3/22 making 4 weeks, then onto a 2 to 3 week schedule by April and through 'til the fall. I have 2 pics of his last meal, a small rat, but the biggest i could find of the smalls - is he ready for mediums? and if so, when should i introduce them?

OK - still pondering - i looked at some mediums and they seem huge by comparison! but here are some side by sides of him eating a small rat april 2016 and last week - is he ready to move up, or were they a bit too big last year??

Don't know which pic is what but regardless a small looks fine for him. I don't do the whole winter cool down thing as my snakes all live in an 'eternal summer' but I do feed them on the light side. At 2.5 years old, I'd stick to smalls every 2-3 weeks. You don't really need a lump in them honestly. Only snake I like to put a nice size lump in is Caesar. Otherwise he will go bananas. Vicky is about 3 years old and 5' and on medium rats every 3-4 weeks. Rosey is almost 5 years old and about 7' and on large rats every month. Rango is just over a year old and about 2.5' and eats an adult mouse once a week. Gina is 7 months old and about 2' and she eats a hopper mouse every week. Like I said, I feed on the small side.
