New Enclosure Vendor
We went to the local expo today - Scott Smith's All-Animal Expo at the DuPage County, IL fairgrounds, and found a fairly new enclosure vendor. Due to failing to resist a corn snake and carpet python, we got two of the cages. From setting up they seem decent, we'll see how they work out long-run.
Vendor is Rat Pack Feeders, Renee & Anthony Caporale, www.ratpackfeeders.com, cages aren't on their website (yet, presumably).
Forgot to ask what kind of plastic they are, but it feels harder/stiffer than the CPVC that Animal Plastics uses. The material is about 1/4 inch thick. The front/back/top/bottom are one piece, folded, with a seam at the bottom rear. The sides are inset a smidge, probably plastic-welded in. The doors are clear plexi, with rotating tabs made from plastic. The cages are 24" wide, 17" front-back, and 10" tall. Other sizes available, but either they didn't bring them or they'd sold quickly (I didn't ask).
No vents other than around the door and the hole for the light power cord, but that's easily solved with a drill if we think it needs more. The 10" height is short, feels a lot more than 2" different than a T8. I like the thicker material AP uses, but I have another cage from another vendor with material about the same thickness, and it seems to work pretty well. I also prefer white to black, but I prefer the plastic enclosure to the glass Exo-Terra style ones I have in storage.
This is the bottom of one as I set it up with heat tape, thermostat probe, and thin wood to provide space for the probe. You can also kind of see the LED light bar I put in:

Here's the cages in place on a shelf. Please excuse the aspen dust on the doors. Once the new arrivals outgrow them I may move my male sand boas in, although there's not much litter dam on them.

They come with the binder clips on the doors, vendor uses them to hang cage cards, also usable as a handle to open the door.
Yes, that's a top-entrance hide made from a bowl in a large deli container - It fit, and meant I could just pop the whole thing into the enclosure instead of disturbing my boy again to take him out of the deli container.
For extra fun, our spare VE thermostat that's been unused for a couple/few months apparently died while it was sitting. Fortunately, one of my sand boas has both a UTH and RHP, so I stole the basic on-off VE thermostat from his setup, as he'll be fine with one heat source until we get a new Herpstat (I was going to get one at the show, but the rep who sometimes has them didn't).
