What's considered "not losing weight" during a fast?

I always see the comment that a snake is fine as long as it's not losing weight. But what does that really mean?

My female BP has been fasting since early November of last year. My records show she was 1583g at that time. Today she's weighing 1451g. Is that considered too much or abnormal?

Not has much of weight thing than it is proportion. I don't weigh my animals (unless it's for pic update ref or for customer), I simply go by feel and proportion when it comes to my animals.

Re: What's considered "not losing weight" during a fast?

I'd say any considerable loss. It depends on the size of the snake. I'd say up to a 200g loss is nothing to worry about in 1,200+ snakes.

Obviously if they are smaller it would be different.

Considering that some snakes take poo's larger than what your girl has lost, I wouldn't worry.

Yeah, I didn't mention that she looks healthy. She feels strong. I don't think anyone would look at her and think she's malnourished. Thanks.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry if she's not changing physical condition. Chin up, should be coming to the end of it soon!
