i just got this 9 month old ball python that is over 1500 grams and she has this extremely red area near her lower under side abdomen. i am new to keeping snakes and don't know if this is common. the rest of her is yellowish as it should be. idk how to upload pics so does anyone know what this is?

Re: red spot on lower body
Looks like a burn, what type of heating do you use and how do you regulate it?

How are you heating your enclosure? That seems a little too red to be an upcoming shed. Take the temperature of the floor of your enclosure.

Re: red spot on lower body
I don't have a heating pad yet, I just have a lamp and a warm room. I just got her today and the heating pad she came with was discolored and cracked. It all fits together and makes sense. Thank you. Should I worry and take her to the vet or will she self heal?

Thats what it is then I bet. Heating pad was so hot it dried & cracked and burnt her. She should heal. Make sure your humidity is up as im sure she is dried out terrible.

Yeah when I put her in her tank, the first thing she started to do is drink water
