Ambient temps on hot side of tank question
I have the Exo terra medium low terrarium for my BP, and it's 24" long I believe so there is a definite warm and cool side (digital thermometers on each side), plus also an underbelly hot spot under her warm hide that stays at 90* (stat controlled)
I might be a bit overkill with the thermometers because I have one with a probe that stays under the substrate on her hot spot to keep track there, then I have the Acurite digital one that also hangs out in the back corner of the hot side to track the ambient hot side temps, and then I have a cool side thermometer that has a probe that I stuck to the glass low down next to the ground in the corner
As it stands right now -- UTH hot spot is 90, ambient hot side is also usually around 89-90 because I've been using a dimmed heat lamp that mostly hits that side, but I try to move a little towards the middle because I want to keep the cool side at around 78-80 (which it is, in this case)
But to keep the cool side at the 78-80 range, the lamp is also making my hot side an AMBIENT of around 89-90 ... SO my question is, is that OK? Is that too high of an ambient? I know that's good for the underbelly hot spot, but I wasnt sure if there was a problem with that as an ambient?
In looking around in other posts, I see posts that imply the ENTIRE TANK ambient should be more like 80 or maybe a little over that, and only the hot spot at 90? So now my anxiety is acting up that maybe the hot "side" is too warm?
Sorry if this is silly, I'm still a newbie

The other thing is though, I will periodically use the IR gun and kinda run it all over the surface of the hot side and those readings are usually in the mid to upper 80s, but her hot spot I barely keep substrate on so that's why it reads back at 90 under the hide
So now I'm not sure if that acurite thermometer is even 100% correct, why it's reading 90-91, but it seems like the surface never reads that high where the eco earth substrate is thicker, only under the hide where there isnt as much
