Question on BP Sizes (fact-checking a reptile presentation...) POLL

I work at a school and another teacher was having a local wildlife center come show the kids some herps. I NEVER get to talk reptiles, so was excited to go to the presentation in her room. The rep. brought 2 native animals and 1 non-native..a BP. When presenting the BP (looked like an adult male of average size). She responded to a question about how large BPs can get. She said they can get "6-8 feet". It was all I could do to not correct her int he middle of the presentation...I only own 3 BPs myself, but have never heard of one over 5'.

So my question to you guys, is what is the largest BP you've ever had, seen, or know has been documented. Is this lady correct in that there is some weird case of an 8' BP floating around, or was I correct in being shocked?

I will include a poll for this one, but please feel free to comment with an explanation. I would really like to learn something here and am hoping this woman wasn't totally off her rocker lol.

I've never seen one over 5 foot on all my years but it's possible there are some big females out there that have been for e fed and maybe longer than the norm .
Can't see there being any at 8' though .

I had one female that was a couple inched shy of 5 feet. but doubt she would have gotten over 5.

I also work in school but a secondary / high school ... I work with autistic / Aspergers teenagers ( being an Aspie myself helps somewhat ) . Anyways every couple of years they hire somebody to bring in a range of creatures -usually comprises of a normal Corn snake , a Bearded dragon , a big hairy spider , millipede etc etc .
Having a decent collection of stunning looking display snakes I'm always a tad underwhelmed with their offering but I guess that's more my problem than theirs . Most people are either interested and a few are intrigued but I always wonder what their reaction would be to my 7' Snow Boa or some of my other beauties .

This is my biggest girl bp currently. That's a 5 1/2' table so if she were straight I'd say she's about the same length without stretching. She's over 3000g now and building so she looks huge. This was from a few months ago. But to answer your question, I'm sure there's been the freak 6' female here and there but 7-8 is extremely unlikely. I hate when people exaggerate snake size.

Probably everybody has seen this vid, but she's only 5'6" long according to the owner!

Same, it makes me wonder if the speaker is intentionally exaggerating (usually for wow factor), or if she just made it up? :\

Ive seen several wild caught BP's back in the early 90's that were around 6/6.5' feet but nothing bigger. I bought one myself but traded it assp for a CB Boa because i was just a kid and it was loaded with Ticks & Mites.
I also know of some big Balls that people try and call another name (cant think of it off hand) but all they really are, are wild caught older Ball Pythons that continue to grow throughout there life. Ive seen Bids on these Notmal balls that are 6.5 feet for big money... I guess some people are stuck on "bigger is better" but they might be buying a 25 year old snake for all they know.
