is it safe to buy a used snake rack?

So someone is selling a snake rack for cheap but i am worried that it could have had snakes on it with mites and infections or would it be fine if i just clean it after i buy it.

Just disinfect the whole thing and if you're really worried about mites keep it in your garage away from the snakes for a month. Any mite egg will hatch and eventually die of starvation.

Make sure it's properly cleaned, and yourself afterwards before handling any other snakes you have. We've just gotten mites and the only thing I can think of being near is a second hand vivarium :/

I would leave it in the garage, clean it well, and disinfect everything with straight ammonia since chlorine, F10, and vinegar don't kill crypto. Wash it again to remove all traces of ammonia.

Leave it in the garage to air out for another week or so after that and you should be good.

i would also check the heat tape to make sure it's still safely wired and fully functional.
