split tank 50/50
i currently have one baby ball python in a 40 gallon breeder (i have a "strip" of plastic down the middle so technically she in a 20 gallon) and i was wondering if i could just raise her and one other python in that split tank until they are fully grown for their separate tank. obvs the strip down the middle isnt clear.

Could you, Yes.
Problem is you better know exactly whom you are purchasing another animal from and even then you should quarantine.

I guess you could however there are so many tanks on Craigslist why would you want to? Id rather grab another tank ($20-$40 all day) off craigslist so that I can keep the new one quarantined for 2-3 months and also that gives them the room they need at night to explore...mine use up all 4' of length stretching out and climbing on PVC.

What about just a 15~32qt tub setup, if you're getting a baby? I think that's much easier to do and safer too.

a little late now but you could still go tub and see if you could make room for another aquarium and wait for the petco $1 per gallon sale.

That Petco $1.00/gallon sale rocks!!!! I've picked up my last 2 enclosures using that deal and am watching the stores for the next sale. Can't beat a 40 gallon breeder for $40

Re: split tank 50/50
When I first thought about getting a snake for my sons birthday the sale was about to end so I picked a 20L. Turns out it was a good move.

Re: split tank 50/50
Any tanks i use are "Longs". That way they are 4' length and any snake ive had has always loved that.. A 30G or 40G long is a great tank. 48"x12x12. Cost $30/$40 at the sale.

Re: split tank 50/50
I'm trying to find a tank that's at least 50" inches long. After I put in my insert, it will take away about 2-4 inches and by ball is about 46". I've looked in so many places but cannot find a tank this size with front sliding doors and not too tall. Where does one buy this? Petsmart and Petco both say they don't have any that size. ExoTerra and Zilla both stop at 48" for the front sliding ones.
My tank now is 60longx16widex25tall and it's difficult to reach all the way down so it's definitely too tall for me.
