Is this all I need for start with a BP?

    Hello

I'm almost ready to go shopping for things to build my first snake's home, will these things be all I'll need for building a home for a young snake?

    A tub 13.5 x 16 x 7 (inches)
A thermometer, hygrometer, UTH and a thermostat (what types of each of these things are the best for BPs?) - how should I put it together to work?
    2 shelters, a water bowl

And for the future, would an enclosure of these measurements: 46.5 x 17 x 17 ,be enough for an adult BP?

    Thank you in advance

    Thank you!

Is it like I just plug the UTH into a thermostat and like this into electricity and just set the right temperature? Our house already has the "cold" end temperature so I just need to create the warm spot.

    Hi

I'd also strongly suggest a digital temp gun to take temps in the hides and all over the warm sides . The dial on the stat / thermostat is just there for a guide and CANNOT be relied on at all ... You use a good thermometer to check the surface temps ( either one with a wired probe or a digital temp gun - ideally both ) .

The best thermostat is a herpstat (you can get a herpstat 1 basic), or you can get a vivarium electronics.

I've gotten the cheap $30 thermostats like Jumpstart before, and they do work, but they become very inaccurate in under a year... and then you still have to get a new one. I realized it's best to just start with the best LOL, it saves more money in just a few years.

I'd also rec getting a temp gun! It's needed as a double-check for your temps, in case your other equipment is faulty, you would know.

Even if your house is already the cold side's temperature, it can fluctuate without you noticing. I suggest a thermometer for each side. I have a digital one on each side. Mine have both (humidity and temperature) on one screen. That makes checking temp and humidity very easy because I only have to glance at two screens instead of having 4 separate things to check. In a small enclosure, I can also imagine all these different and separate devices will clutter it quickly. Mine are tiny, stick to the inside of the glass and you can get them with probes as well so it doesn't measure the variables only where the devices are. I'm using them to measure ambient and have a probe running down for the substrate itself on the warm side. Check on amazon, there are plenty of different ones to choose from

If the thermostat has a screen with current temp and one with goal temp, can the current one not be trusted either?
