BP very active/ trying to escape
Hey All!
So my BP was always pretty relaxed, doing what BP's do best-> sleeping all day and maybe coming out for 30 mins every night. However, a few days ago he escaped, and ended up getting super cold, as I only found him when I woke up. Since then he's been a lot more active, constantly either lying outside his hide, or moving up and down trying to find a way out. Is he just active because he thinks he has another chance to escape? Could it be stress? I've also moved him from feeding once every 5 days to once a week as someone said it's better for BP's that are pets, not breeders. He's about 6 months old, and everything else (temps and humidity) seem fine.
Any ideas? Is it stress or am I just reading too much into it?

Re: BP very active/ trying to escape
If everything is fine temp wise as you say it is, he's probably just a little stressed. My little royal goes like this if anything (I really mean ANYTHING lol) changes inside his viv. As long as he's still healthy, feeding, pooping and everything is perfect temp wise I would just give him a little time to settle back to normal

Re: BP very active/ trying to escape
hot side is 95, cold side is 75. Humidity is around 60%- it's a wooden viv with two sliding glass doors.
The only thing I can think is that because I'm using a heat lamp, the hot bit is outside the hide, and the substrate temps inside the hides are 82 and 76. The substrate directly underneath the lamp is 95, as is a bit of the outside of the hot hide

hot side is too hot, cool side slightly too cold in my opinion. probably has the snake a bit stressed.
