Cool My Ball Python Bit Me! * A Keeper's Mistake *

Hello guys! Something happened this morning that I was waiting to happen to me for a long time now, I am going to have a girl friend. Haha jokee! ✌ My ball python, Cheddar bit me in my thumb but it was my bad that he bit me. I ate "adobo", a famous dish in the Philippines, in that morning and I forgot to eliminate the smell from my food and I tried feeding the mice but instead of biting the mouse, Cheddar got my thumb first. He did'nt bite it tightly nor constrict it. To be honest, it feels like small needles and it does not really hurt that much. Maybe because I was in adrenaline rush when he bit me hehe. My first reaction was like, "OMG, did he actually bit me? Cool!" Haha in fact i've been waiting for this. It seems like every pet I had had times where I am hurt emotionally and physically. From dog and cat bites to mouse bites to scorpion stings to bird bites until snake bites hehe. I learned my lesson to wash my hands properly before feeding my snake and I hope you could learn from my mistake because you could end up like me. Thank you for your time to check out my thread! Happy Keeping, Peace

haha I felt like I leveled up when my first young ball python bit me. I brought home a mouse, he already smelled it, and then I randomly decided to change his water BEFORE feeding him the mouse. So I stuck my hand into the cage and he immediately tagged me LOL.

Also, are you using tongs when feeding? It might be a good idea once Cheddar gets bigger

I am feeding him live mice but I am not using tongs for him. Probably planning to buy one for him.

Oh man, that reaction is priceless haha. We've not been bitten once yet, and I'm actually wanting it to happen to get over the fear of a strike. I'm a jumpy person, a snake could bite me all day long as long as it doesn't strike first haha. I couldn't imagine not using tongs though.

All your animals have hurt you in a way, my version of that is every animal we've owned has pooped on my other half. It's like a tradition now lol

Hahaha I have like this bite mark in my thumb but it is fading in a few days. I wish it would be like last a little bit longer. Hehe I am used to feed it with tongs tho but I will try. Btw thank you for your reply guys!
