Shall I raise him in Basement

    Hello all,
We have shifted to our new home and our python is safe in his cage. My kid is getting so excited when he see the python. We have tamed our python, but still we cannot always predict how it'll behave. So my husband suggested that we should place the python cage out of our kid's reach. We have an unused basement. Is basement a good place to raise the python?? We'll get it renovated by home renovations Toronto based on your suggestions. If we are raising our python in basement, are there any requirements like lighting, temperature etc?? Have your raised them in your basement?? If you have any other idea, rather than raising them in basement, please let me know. Anyhow we should place him out of our kid's reach.

First of all, whether or not you raise your snake in the basement, garage, bedroom, or in Alaska, they have the same heating and husbandry requirements needed to survive, or they will get sick and die. They don't need extra lighting just for lighting's sake. They're nocturnal animals, but would benefit from a little bit of light just for a day/night cycle.

And what kind of python? If it's a ball python, read through the caresheet: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...ius)-Caresheet
