    Dark Morphs

I currently have a lot of light colored morphs and my wife has shown a great deal of interest in darker morphs lately. So my question is what would you all recommend as a morph that maintains their dark coloring well without looking to much like a normal? I've looked at black pastels, cinnamon, and axanthics but am not sure what direction I would like to go. The axanthic looks killer as a juvenile but brown out some as they get older and having to fight the recessive gene for a brownish snake does not sound too appealing. Any recommendations as to what you all enjoy the most? My wife loves this hobby as much as me and I'd love to be able to get something that speaks to her like the whites and yellows do to me. Thanks!

I think your on the right track with the morphs, not a lot of snakes that are super dark as hatchlings stay that way into adulthood. Black pastel combos, Cinny, Mahogany especially the Suma, GHI its all about quality if your looking at snakes that stay really dark into adulthood.

Ever look into the leopard gene? It's already dark on its own, but adding mojave or black pastel (or both) into the mix steps things up quite a bit. Mojave leopards and black magic leopards are probably my favorite dark morphs, maybe tied with SUMA

Some champagnes can be really dark too, plus champagne mixes... for instance:

I'm also a big fan of 8balls and Sumas. Blackheads too... they make some WICKED dark combos.

    Re: Dark Morphs

I have an obsession with the way Leopards look but never realized how dark they can get. I'll have to show these to my wife and see if anything is available at the next Tinley show. Gonna have to check out the SUMA genes too. I have been doing this ball thing for a while but only light gene animals. Now that I'm looking at darker stuff I'm finding just how many morphs and combos I've been missing out on! Leopard mahogany, leopard ghi, ghi mahogany... I'm going broke again this March. Thanks everyone!

You want to look into Black Pastel, Mahogany, Leopard, Paint, GHI and Black Axanthic when it comes to dark morphs

Genetic black back. Also just saw today some black heads. Go over to Jkobylkareptiles and check out his available master list for the black heads he has available. Now I dont know what they do into adulthood but they are the darkest ball pythons i have seen. His leopard black head is crazy. if youre looking for dark its def a way to go. I'd post the photo here but i dont know all the rules with like copyright and stuff hahaha. also I havent posted a photo in a thread in a while and dont remember how oh also not very wide spread right now so i think they are still pretty pricey but supposedly the Black Axanthics are not supposed to brown out as adults. JKR working with those as well but dont think he has any listed.
