I've read through a bunch of these threads, and I'm still concerned, haha! New snake-parent worries I guess, and probably nothing to be concerned about but I wanted to ask a couple questions.

I have a new ball python purchased from NERD's attached pet store. He's a little male coral glow, seems to be pretty young, but I have no idea exactly how young. I've had him just over a week now, and I've attempted to feed him twice on adult f/t mice sold to me with the snake. I know now that the first attempt was probably too soon, so I waited a good 5 days from the first attempt before trying again tonight. I waited until about 7pm, kept the lights out in the room using ambient light from another room so I could see what I was doing. Thawed the mouse out on top of the cage for about an hour and a half, felt it through the plastic bag and it was nice and soft, definitely thawed out. I then ran it (in the plastic bag) under some hot water(not too hot, maybe 105 F) to get it's temperature up and tried offering to him. All he does, however, is coil up and hide like he's scared of the mouse. I used fairly long tongs and tried to keep my silhouette from shadowing him. I haven't been handling the snake aside from when I moved him into the enclosure, and he's in a room all by himself without a lot of traffic(front entrance to house, but we normally use the basement to come into the home). I left the mouse in with him for now, poking slightly into his hide hoping that with the lights all out by himself he might be interested.

My setup (since I know you will ask!):

Exo-Terra Medium Low enclosure - screentop is mostly covered with foil, with a square just large enough for a heat lamp on the top, and 3 sides are covered by black foam-board on the outside
60w CHE - hooked up to Herpstat 2
Ultratherm 11x11 UTH - also hooked up to Herpstat 2
Two identical hides made from dollar-store plastic bowls, with small openings cut out on one side.
Fairly large and heavy water dish with fresh water.
Paper towels for substrate
Hot side is set at 92F, and my acurite registers 91.5F under the hot-hide
Cool side/ambient floats between 79-81F depending on how cool the house is.
Humidity is 50-55% generally, room humidifier should be in soon to raise that a little.

I guess what I'm worried about is the snake seems pretty small for an adult mouse, but I understand they can eat pretty large prey, its probably slightly larger than his widest body-section, but its also kinda flat from the whole freezing process. He's very sweet and I just want to make sure I'm taking care of him properly

Some pics of him before he went into the enclosure, he seems small and possibly skinny to me, but I'm very new to this all.
