Hi guys.
I'm having a 'small' problem with the humidity. Today I have got a iSTAT thermostat which showed a lower by around ~10% humidity than my exo terra hydrometr. Now... I was trying to fix the issue with escapeing humidity by leaving a towel on my cold side while I was using the standard analogue exo terra hydrometr which usually was at 50%-55% at a centre of the terrarium, which worked alright. Today I placed the probe of iSTAT on the warm side, which showed a difference in around 10% also I covered the screen top with a tin foil, which didn't really had an effect as the humidity dropped down quite quickly (reason; light bulb heat). I have also read that a higher water dish would bring the humidity up, but I haven't noticed it at all.
The thermostat is controlling the red bulb at a dimming stat which is the main source of heat, its set up to heat up to 32C,during the day he is having the red bulb(100W) on all the time and a standard light bulb (40W) sometimes during the day just to give him that day/night cycle as my room is a bit dark somedays duing the day.
His tank temperatures: Warm side 32-33C , Cold side 26-28C
(The tank is secured with 3 styrofoams to keep the warmth in the tank)
Im asking for advice to how can I improve the humidity. Should I place the probe at the middle of the terrarium for more accurate humidity? But then my temperatures will not be accuarate...
