Question... how often does everybody let excrement sit in their snakes enclosures?
I always wonder about this subject... I am on top of my colony and always have been. Newspaper and 2-4 "roll thru's" on the colony each day. I just can't stand to see them sitting anywhere near their waste... what about others though?
***Pic is for fun!

Undoubtedly
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Well for one thing, it smells - at least with colubrids. I know when I need to clean, even if I can't see it. "Bio-active" is not any kind of excuse either. I use fish water for fertilizing the plants. All snake waste and dirty substrate gets scooped as soon as I know about it.
I'm not the world's fussiest housekeeper, but still...When we had a cat, the litter box was scooped as soon as it was used. I can't stand that sort of filth, nor the smell. I clean the rat CritterNation daily, and I clean up after the canary and budgies daily too. Yes, it takes time, but that is part of living with animals.

I agree with "clean as soon as I see it", easily check twice a day.

I check at least once the day. And usually one can smell it, LOL.
Not the smell of roses..
Gets cleaned as soon as discovered.
Like Pit said, though, when pairing or snakes are locked, one should leave the snakes alone...
When I observed my latest pairing I noticed urates in the tub with them. Had to sit on my hands to keep from cleaning it up, LOL.
