    What in theeeee, flexxwatt?

Alright guys I'm really starting to get upset with figuring things out.
I moved my snakes to a rack because I want to get more, but the flexxwatt is seriously starting to piss me off.
It's woven between the shelves of the rack my fiance and I made and shelf reads something different.
I don't know if it's my temp gun or what but I don't get it. How does one long strand of flexxwatt say different temps? I mean it's ranging from 88-100 depending where I scan even though the herpstat is set at 91.
    Helppppppp.

There can be variation through out the strip.
How long have you had it running?
    Where is your probe?
FYI, you don't really get an accurate reading with a temperature gun on a reflective surface.

It's been running since last night, I thought it only took a few hours to regulate.
My probe is taped directly on top of the flexxwatt on my top shelf. It seems the top ones are hotter than the bottom.
And should I pull the tub out and scan the inside of the tub? I've been directly scanning the tape.

Edit: How do you fix it if it varies? I'm not trying to have one shelf 100 and one 88 forever haha

    Yes, inside of the tub.
I cheat. I have an extra tub that has a probed thermometer taped into it that I rotate through my racks to get an accurate temperature.

Heat rises, so the top shelves will always be a little warmer. Heat tape also works most efficiently in warmer rooms so if yours is very cold that could be the issue. I would place the probe on the middle shelf to get a general idea of the temperature.

Is it normal for the tub to be way colder than the tape says? I understand it has to travel through the plastic but that doesn't seem right.

I get that but it's literally nearly a 13 degree difference. I keep my room extremely warm so it's not that. Maybe I will try putting it in the middle

Not way cooler but a couple degrees.
