    Dented belly scales?

Holding my ball python earlier when I noticed some sort of scarring on his underbelly. You can feel them, and I thought it was scars at first, but it looks more like the edges of the scales are sort of peeled back or inwards. Only in those 2 spots and they don't seem to bother him at all. Anything to be concerned about?

Nothing to worry about. They scales are just bent inwards, so you can bend them outwards, my small BEL has that often, I just pull a bit the skin and they flip back to place

Sometimes this happens if they have a hide that is a tad too tight, they sort of "crimp" some of their scales. Not a huge deal, as the snugger the hide, the safer the BP will feel. Just make sure the hide isn't so tight that he can get stuck.

Alternatively, it could just be a fluke thing. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Re: Dented belly scales?

My pastel has the same thing going on with a few of his scales for a at least a few years that I've noticed. Doesn't go away with a shed but doesn't seem to affect him in any way so I'd say not to worry about it.
