Last season I picked up a project that I was really excited about. Male was a GHI Het Red Axanthic female wae Het Red Axanthic and got a 6 egg clutch off them.
now the odds gods were not seeing things my way even tho i did get the snake i was after GHI Super Red Axanthic yes I know that i did pull the long shot so the odds gods did pay out but i only got 1 and its a girl so years of waiting to pair her. she was the only ghi in the clutch and the only super.
since she laid last year mom has pounded anything offered as often as offered and in the 9 months or so since she laid has taken a minimum of 1 good sized rat every week. At the beginning of last season she was 1800 grams this season she is 2970. However she has not wanted to lock with any male I have tossed in with her, it has been really frustrating. woke up this morning to this (mind the messy tub they spilled the water dish and it will be cleaned as soon as possible without disturbing them) also want to add that mom is 9 this year for any of you who keep track of egg production in older females. i normally dont have females that old (not that it is old mind you) as breeders I replace with daughters as soon as i get one as nice So lets roll the dice again and hope the odds gods are not so fickle this year
