    Ninja Ball

    Hello,
I just joined this this site, although I've been using for some time now. I was a great source of knowledge when I was thinking about getting a ball python and those first few weeks. I've had one know for a couple of months, a male G-Stripe called Chef Rogers. Up to now I had him on a tub but since it'll probably be my only one (or two if end up getting a pied which I LOVE) I thought a display cage would be more appropriate, plus I could enjoy him a little more without taking him out and stressing him. Long story short, first thing he did after I put him in was to go ninja on me and start crawling walls. I though I would share with you guys and gals.

And done exploring, now heading for his hide and hasn't come out since.

    Husbandry numbers?

That climbing behavior is a little strange, but if all your numbers are good, then maybe it's just curious. You will most likely need to upgrade the size of the enclosure as it gets to be full size. Is that a 2x2? It could probably live in that forever, but if it's a display animal, might as well take the leap once he's full size and get a bigger cage.

Nice setup though. I like the pyramids.

    Thank!
I honestly believe he was just curious. After getting down he went back to the usual behavior of hanging out in his hide. He's actually never been very shy.

As for the size of the cage, it's actually 4x1.5x1.5 but I read in a few places that large spaces can stress them out so I blocked it at the half so right now it's a 2x1.5x1.5. When it grows up a bit more he'll get the full thing

Maybe he's living the dream of being a green tree python..? Lol mine likes to climb at night too so I satisfied his arboreal hopes and dreams with the fluker's bamboo that suction cup to the side of his enclosure and he seems satisfied lol

Haha perhaps! That's pretty cool what you did. I was thinking some driftwood branches but there'should not a whole lot of space now. Maybe when I open up the whole cage.

P.S that's a beautiful snake that you got there.

Haha thank you! He's a looker that's a nice enclosure, I'm sure he'll have tons of room once it's fully open. Did you make it yourself?

I did. I got the idea from this video plus added a few touches. Total price was $220 so on par with what a terrarium + equipment would be, but I like this look better. If you have some power tools and some free time totally recommend, it was a great experience.

I've seen that video! I like to build (well more like assembling things out of boxes lol) but making my own enclosure has definitely crossed my mind. That's awesome! It looks great.
